Pero nuevas investigaciones sugieren que la nutrici\u00f3n de los padres tambi\u00e9n juega un papel importante.<\/p>\n<p>\u00abLa nutrici\u00f3n y la salud materna antes, durante y despu\u00e9s del nacimiento del beb\u00e9 siempre han recibido atenci\u00f3n, pero se dice poco sobre el papel de la dieta del padre\u00bb, afirm\u00f3 Daniela Sartorelli, autora del estudio, profesora de medicina en la Universidad de S\u00e3o Paulo, Brasil. \u00abNuestro estudio demuestra que tambi\u00e9n es muy importante para la salud del beb\u00e9.\u00bb<\/p>\n<p>En un estudio con 43 familias, los investigadores descubrieron que cuantos m\u00e1s alimentos ultraprocesados consum\u00edan los padres antes de concebir, mayor peso al nacer de sus beb\u00e9s y mayor era la acumulaci\u00f3n de grasa en los muslos y alrededor de la cintura al nacer.<\/p>\n<p>Un mayor peso al nacer y una elevaci\u00f3n de grasa corporal en la edad temprana se consideran factores de riesgo para enfermedades cardiometab\u00f3licas en la edad adulta.<\/p>\n<p>Los investigadores creen que las dietas ricas en alimentos ultraprocesados pueden desencadenar inflamaci\u00f3n en el cuerpo, afectando la calidad del esperma y cambiando la forma en que ciertos genes se expresan antes de que se transmitan al beb\u00e9.<\/p>\n<p>Un gen destacado en el estudio, IGF-II, se hereda exclusivamente del padre y desempe\u00f1a un papel clave en el crecimiento fetal.<\/p>\n<p>Los h\u00e1bitos alimenticios de un padre pueden cambiar el comportamiento de ese gen, seg\u00fan los investigadores, lo que podr\u00eda influir en el desarrollo fetal.<\/p>\n<p>La dieta de las madres tambi\u00e9n importaba, pero de otra manera.
