Al incorporarse al proyecto, los participantes se sometieron a un examen de salud bucal que se\u00f1al\u00f3 dientes perdidos y enfermedades de las enc\u00edas.<\/p>\n<p>Durante cuatro a\u00f1os de seguimiento, casi el 12% de los participantes gan\u00f3 al menos un 5% de su peso corporal, seg\u00fan los investigadores.<\/p>\n<p>Aquellos con menos dientes y peor salud bucal ten\u00edan m\u00e1s probabilidades de experimentar aumento de peso, seg\u00fan el estudio.<\/p>\n<p>La p\u00e9rdida de dientes puede hacer que las personas eviten alimentos saludables y ricos en fibra, como las frutas y verduras, en favor de alimentos m\u00e1s blandos que contienen m\u00e1s calor\u00edas, seg\u00fan los investigadores.<\/p>\n<p>Los investigadores encontraron que las muelas que se rechinan entre s\u00ed al masticar jugaron un papel clave en el riesgo de p\u00e9rdida de peso.
